AFI Dalls, more than just a hotel...I think

I haven't gotten to see much of the city yet, so I thought I would provide some sweeping views of downtown Dallas from the W Hotel. Basically the whole downtown area is under construction, and hopes to emerge a revitalized urban center care of Victory Park, a development that happens to be one of the presenting sponsors of the festival.

This is the American Airlines pavilion where hockey or some sport happens, but on the left is the filmmaker lounge.

So far the festival has been just the W Hotel for me and I haven't got to see much of Dallas. Not that I am complaining. Across the street is the Target Lounge for filmmakers and press which is like home base. They have a bevy of screeners which are making it possible for me to see all the films I couldn't have otherwise because I arrived at the end of the festival. And it is open till 2 am, providing free beer and food to pass holders who can just chat in a relaxed environment.

It's full of candy

Here is where you stock up on candy, water, chips, whatever you need for your room. It is heaven.

I am hoping to see more of the city tomorrow.
